Here's a Delaware Coastal Zone Act Defense Update Report! Last week the DE House caved in to Big Industry lobbyists and voted for allowing loopholes in the law that protects your water and the vital environment associated with it. The DE Senate vote has scheduled the HB190 "Reform" for WEDNESDAY 6/28 & THURSDAY 6/29.

You, your family, your community, and at least "Seven Generations Forward", are counting on you to NOT SLEEP WALK AT THIS TIME. Study up at the Delaware Coastal Zone Act page! Make some phone calls! Write something! Defend your interests! This is Common Ground stuff!
Let your State Senators know who they are working for and that this one might make you not vote for them, or you may hold them legally responsible for toxic consequences from environmental poisoning in the future. #SaveTheCZA

CZA activist Jeanne Sadot (center above) says, "This bill makes no sense. Except to allow the refinery to make bulk shipments of highly dangerous ethanol.... I'll let you know what happens, but it doesn't look good. Most people I've talked to in DE City have not even heard about this bill...probably the most affected area."

Here are some excerpts from Green Delaware Executive Director Alan Muller in the article from 6-05-17 titled "Strengthen, don’t gut, the Delaware Coastal Zone Act":
“Much of the near-fifty-years of Coastal Zone controversy has been rather stereotyped — business and union interests claiming damage to the economy, loss of jobs, etc., and environmental interests asserting the need to protect our natural resources and quality of life. For the most part, the Act has been chipped away at, and enforcement has often been weak. The last few years have been especially disastrous, with the Markell administration shutting down meaningful enforcement, handing out Coastal Zone permits like so many peanuts, and Delaware courts willfully misinterpreting the plain language of the Act to deny citizens “standing” to demand enforcement. The present Governor, John Carney, ran on a platform that included weakening of the Act…
The current proposed legislation, House Bill 190, would not leave much left of the Act. The prime sponsor, Rep. Ed. Osienski, is a retired construction union business agent. In spite of these problems, the Act has done a lot of good… Fifty years ago Delaware’s political system was able to recognize these realities and act somewhat effectively with a pioneering “coastal management” law. Has our collective wisdom so deteriorated that, in the face in increasing demands, we will choose to roll back, rather than strengthen, coastal protections?…
An impressive collection of Delaware’s non-governmental organizations are calling on legislators to withdraw SB 190 and set up a “stakeholder” review process to look at the Coastal Zone Act. Green Delaware supports this, but we note that such a process should (1) not be dominated by industrial/organized labor interests tied to the negative agenda revealed in SB 190,and (2) the focus should not be on weakening the act, but on strengthening it to meet the needs of present times…Those legislators need to hear from you NOW. ” Read the full article at Green Delaware "Strengthen, don't gut, the Delaware Coastal Zone Act".

Nuclear Heartland USA video of Nukewatch John LaForge published to YouTube

“Nuclear HeartlandUSA” was published to “Social Justice in the Heart of Berkeley” You Tube Channel on March 29, 2017 by Vic Sadot.

Nuclear Heartland, the book, was first published in 1988. John LaForge of Nukewatch updated and republished a 2015 report on the status of land-based nuclear silos in the United States. He presented a power-point lecture on the book and the nuclear weapons abolition movement.

Marion Küpker, German Nuclear Abolitionist, in Berkeley CA with John LaForge (6 minutes)
John LaForge of Nukewatch was accompanied on this speaking tour with German nuclear abolitionist activist Marion Küpker, who represents GAAA, Gewaltfreie Aktion Atomwaffen Abschaffen (GAAA, Nonviolent Action to Abolish Nuclear Weapons). It is a German organisation dedicated to the total abolition of nuclear weapons. Since many of us had not heard that a historic vote in the UN General Assembly was coming up on Oct 27, 2016, we learned about it from John LaForge. The vote was overwhelming to make 2017 the year to push the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty forward through UN sponsored conferences: 123 In Favor; 38 Against; 16 Abstentions. The vote was something of an act of defiance toward the Security Council, and almost all nuclear-armed powers voted no, with some notable abstentions. The mainstream media buried the story as if it was not a significant event in human history!

Cynthia Jean Johson welcomed everyone to Historic Fellowship Hall in Berkeley. Author-activist Cecile Pineda did the introduction of John LaForge of Nukewatch. BFUU Social Justice Committee activists Ingrid Kepler-May and James Beatty appear in the Q&A session. Ingrid Kepler-May is in the Q&A segment at around 49:10 of the 58 minute video. She is in a discussion with speaker John LaForge about the effects of US use of depleted uranium in weapons and armor, particularly how it contaminates the environment and causes birth defects in Iraqi babies. Ingrid witnessed these results first-hand on a visit to hospitals in Iraq. The 58 minutes video was made by Vic Sadot from an audio recording by David Yandle of a John LaForge NukeWatch Book Update presentation by John in Fellowship Hall, Berkeley, CA on Oct. 13, 2016. Sponsored by BFUU Social Justice Committee.

The vote was presaged by John LaForge on Oct 13, 2016 in Berkeley. We include that with the advantage of releasing the video in late March 2017 as the US, UK, and other nuclear powers were actually boycotting the talks, and instead planning new attacks on Syria, and blaming the Russians for hacking the last US election. Did your media even cover the crucial talks to ban nuclear weapons from the Earth? Next round is in July! Make them negotiate nuclear disarmament like they were doing before GW unilaterally withdrew the US from the ABM Treaty with Russia! Making the Middle East a Nuclear Weapons Free Zone is one of the immediate goals of many nuclear abolition activists.

It was a stunning and memorable update presentation by John LaForge to celebrate the 2015 re-publication of “Nuclear Heartland”! The book was first published in 1988 to let Americans know where the nuke silos are, and that they make you less secure in contradiction of the stated nuclear “deterrence” goal. This only becomes apparent after you understand the war profiteering and the unacceptable risks involved in nuclear radiation, and the climate of fear needed to promote the arms race.

Henry Knorr takes a turn at the open mic during the Question & Answer Session

Henry Knorr Defends Alison Weir from JVP Attacks on "Voices in the Middle East" Radio Show on KPFA Pacifica Radio SoundCloud Move the bar forward to the 38:00 minute mark to hear Henry Knorr, who is an American Jewish Bay Area activist against the 6 decade Apartheid Occupation of Palestine. He is also a member of JVP.  He calls it a “demonization campaign” against Alison Weir and IfAmericanKnew dot org. He also admires Alison for “not just talking to the choir”. He is disgusted with the secret dossier compiled on her, and how an umbrella group named The US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation of Palestine was led to expel her due to the slander campaign. The real problem is that she stands against Zionism as a supremacist political ideology. He talks about her book Against Our Better Judgment about the Israel Lobby and how it is based to a large degree on academic histories by Jewish historians, thoroughly documented, "not kooky stuff", maintains Henry Knorr.

Long-time Justice for Palestine singer-songwriter activist
Francis Collins set the tone for the evening with his

Facebook page for the 16 song Vic Sadot CD Album titled “9/11 Truth & Justice Songs” released on 9/11/11 for the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 & Anthrax Crimes & Cover-up Lies used to justify terrible wars and loss of liberties. Qui bono?

The book that persuaded me that the story being told by the corporate media was a pack of lies was David Ray Griffin's book, "The 9/11 Commission: Omissions & Distortions". The song, "Cheney's in the Bunker", came out of that book, the part about Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta's testimony being omitted from the final report. Mineta said that a young officer in the White House bunker reported the approach of a jet towards Washington at intervals of 50, 30, and 10 miles out, and that each time he asked Vice President Dick Cheney, "Do the orders still stand?"

It was an honor to perform songs for that July 2005 DC Emergence Truth gathering! Here is short video of David Ray Griffin and other folks from that July 2005 weekend gathering, which took place in 3 locations: American University, Lafayette Square White House, and the National Press Club. Cynthia McKinney convened hearings in Congress that same weekend, and many of these folks gave testimoney. 9/11Truth 2005 "DC Emergency Truth Convergence" (57:54) 911TVorg

Published notes on Sep 28, 2015: DC Emergency Truth Convergence, Washington, DC, July 22-24, 2005. An unprecedented event conjoining the power of veteran/victim groups, diverse truth and peace & justice movements and the independent and foreign press to out the deadly coup of 9-11-01. This video is just as important today as it was in 2005 when it was never shown because of an audio flaw during DRGs presentation. Now is the time to ponder the timeless message from these tireless truth warriors. Featuring excerpts from the first National Press Club 911 press conference exclusively for indie media & international journalists, and the Lafayette Park 9/11 peace rally right in front of the White House! Held on the same weekend as the Cynthia McKinney Congressional Hearings into 9/11. With Peter Phillips, David Ray Griffin, Paul Thompson at the National Press Club and Nafeez Amed, Jim Marr, Webster Tarpley, Bob Bowman speaking out at the Lafayette Park peace rally. Thanks to 9/11Truth who produced this superb video!"

On 9/11/05 I was in New York City singing at a rally at Dag Hammarskold Plaza. In DC in July, David Slesinger had suggested that I write a folk song about William Rodriguez, and he suggested I interview him over the phone. He handed me Willie's phone number and I did exactly as he had suggested. Then I got to meet Willie and sing that song at the 9/11/05 rally and at St Mark's Church of the Bowery a second time. But the sobs and the statements made by Donna Marsh O'Connor at the U.N are something that really made me understand how traumatizing the event was for those who lost family. She had lost her pregnant daughter Vanessa, and she wanted to know where were "the men in the suits" to stand with her to get answers to her questions about the 9/11 attacks. Here is that speech.

Donna Marsh O'Connor at the U.N (6:45) Chewbacca2000

The following is a segment with one of the 18 songs presented at Vic Sadot’s “Truth & Justice Love Songs” Concert for the 15th Anniversary of the Crimes of 9/11 delivered in Historic Fellowship Hall in Berkeley, CA on 9/11/16.

Published notes: Vic is introducing the song about William Rodriguez, and Vic is reflecting on his 11 years in the 9/11 Truth movement and how this song came to be written out of attending the 2005 D.C. Emergency Truth Convergence at American University, the National Press Club, and Lafayette Square and meeting David Slesinger. Vic was there to sing his newly written 9/11 Truth songs, “Are You A Citizen Or Are You A Slave?” and “Mad Cowboy Disease”. On 9/11/11 Vic Sadot released a 16 song CD titled “9/11 Truth & Justice Songs”, which remains available at CD Baby. Now there are videos for many of these songs on line at “Truth Troubadour” YouTube Channel and Vic Sadot Vimeo Videos. Vic Sadot will release a new CD in Autumn 2016 titled "Truth Troubadour".
